Watcher — factual events, period against period

Watcher — factual events, period against period

What it is

The watcher compares each published period with the immediately previous one and records the fact when something changes band or is restated. There are three watchers, each with its own counter:

  • companies: /vigia;
  • REITs: /vigia?classe=fiis;
  • ETFs: /vigia?classe=etfs.

Each ticker has its own page at /vigia/{T}, and everything comes out as JSON at /vigia/eventos. Each event carries:

  • both numbers;
  • both periods;
  • the bands;
  • the filing that revealed it;
  • the date that filing became public.

The exact rule

Companies (annual and quarterly filings). Year against year; in the quarter, against the previous quarter (1Q against the previous year's 3Q, since there is no 4Q in the quarterly filing). The events are:

  • profit turning into loss, or the reverse;
  • net margin changing band (“negative margin”, “margin up to 5%”, “margin between 5% and 15%” and “margin above 15%”);
  • net debt/EBITDA changing band (“net cash (negative net debt)”, “debt up to 2 times EBITDA”, “debt between 2 and 3 times EBITDA”, “debt between 3 and 4 times EBITDA” and “debt above 4 times EBITDA”);
  • statements restated with a change of at least 5% in a key account (the same cut-off as the verdict flag);
  • the confidence flag changing colour.

REITs (the CVM's monthly and quarterly reports). The events are:

  • P/B changing band: below 0.80, 0.80 to 1.00, 1.00 to 1.20 and 1.20 or more;
  • 12-month yield changing band: below 6.0%, 6.0% to 9.0%, 9.0% to 12.0% and 12.0% or more;
  • vacancy changing band (quarter against quarter): below 5.0%, 5.0% to 10.0%, 10.0% to 20.0% and 20.0% or more;
  • the number of unitholders changing by 10% or more, with at least 1,000 unitholders in both reports;
  • a report re-filed with the CVM.

ETFs (FNET and B3). The events are:

  • annualised effective fee changing band: below 0.20%, 0.20% to 0.50%, 0.50% to 1.00% and 1.00% or more;
  • the month's median premium/discount changing band, with at least 10 sessions in both months: below -0.50%, -0.50% to -0.10%, -0.10% to 0.10%, 0.10% to 0.50% and 0.50% or more;
  • month-end net assets changing by 20% or more, with at least R$ 10 million in both months;
  • a balance sheet re-filed on FNET.

Gaps and caveats. A gap in the series (a month or quarter without data) triggers no event. Neither does a flagged number.

The e-mail alert. Whoever confirmed the request on the company page gets, every Monday at 08:00 (America/Sao_Paulo), ONE e-mail with the events of the last 7 days for the tickers they follow. If there was no event, nothing goes out. Each e-mail carries the stop link. Sending stops at 90 e-mails a day, and the rest goes out the next day.

What it is NOT

Not investment advice. Changing band is a fact about the number, not a judgement about the ticker: the band does not say whether the new number is good or bad. No judgement adjective enters the text: the banned-terms list is a test that blocks publication.

Limits

  • Only the immediately previous period.
  • The ETF series starts in 2025 and has months without reports.
  • The REIT 12-month yield has a series only from the snapshots kept since 2026-09-27.
  • Re-filed ETF balance sheets are known only from 2026-09-27. A re-filed REIT report has the "before" only when the build saw the re-filing.
  • The cut-offs live in veredito_config.json and correio_config.json. The figures quoted here are read from the file when the page is served.
